Honey Oatmeal Wheat Bread

Yes I am cheap and I make my own bread.  There is nothing wrong with that at all.  Oh but the smell of your house after you make bread.  Now listen I have played with so many recipes and this is our favorite one.  Enjoy everyone.

Ingredients

1 Cup Water
1 Cup Milk
1 Packet of Yeast
2 TBL Honey
21/4 Cup Whole Wheat Flour
2 Cups All Purpose Flour
1 Cup Rolled Oats
4 TBL Butter
1 TBL Salt

Making The Bread

  • First heat up your water and milk to 110 degrees
  • Add your yeast and allow it to do its magic for 10 minutes

  • Grab another bowl and add your flour, salt and oats together
  • Mix this well
  • Melt your butter and add your honey to the yeast mixture
  • Mix well
  • Start adding your flour mixture slowly
  • Scrape sides and start mixing the rest of the flour

  • Roll this into a ball and place it on a floured surface

  • Start to beat it all the air bubbles out and roll it around for about 5 minutes
  • Roll it into a ball

  • Place in a bowl and add oil to it

  • Place the bread in a warm area and let it rise for an hour
  • When it has risen preheat your oven to 400 degrees
  • Now take your dough and punch it in the middle
  • Place the dough on a floured surface and cut it in half and start to flatten it
  • Roll the dough like you would your cinnamon rolls and place in your oiled bread pans
  • Let this rise for another 20 minutes
  • When it has risen place some oats on top of the bread and place in the oven for 30-35 minutes
  • When the bread is done take it out of the oven and cut yourself a slice right away and slap some butter on that bad boy.
This bread is so tasty and makes the house smell so good.  Have a fun time and Enjoy
