Apple Butter (Gluten Free)

Well it is apple season and the only way to salvage all those apples you buy is to make applesauce or apple butter.  Both are the best, but there is something about apple butter.  Cut the apples, put them in a crock pot and forget about for the rest of the day.  The smells alone are amazing.  Here is the recipe.  Enjoy.

Ingredients

7 Large Random Apples
1 TBL Cinnamon
1 TSP Nutmeg
1/4 TSP Ground Cloves
1 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Cup Regular Sugar
1 TSP Vanilla
1/4 TSP Salt

Making Butter

  • Grab a cutting board
  • Turn your crock pot on medium
  • Take the skin off your apples
  • Dice your apples
  • Add all your ingredients to the crock pot
  • Put the lid on and let it cook for 10 hours
  • After its cooked, place butter in a blender or use a hand blender
  • Let it cool and store for up to 2 weeks
  • Great gift for gatherings, breakfast on pancakes, waffles, biscuits or whatever you want.  Enjoy
