My Pie Crust

Pie crusts are easy to make.  Why go and by something you have no idea what's in it.  This is an awesome recipe that was my grandmothers and I want to give it to you all.  Here you go.  Have fun.
Enjoy

Ingredients

1 Cup Crisco
1/2 Cup Unsalted Butter
3 Cups All Purpose Flour
1 TSP Salt
5 TSP Cold Water
1 TBL White Vinegar
1 Egg

Making Magic

  • Grab a large bowl
  • Add your flour
  • Add your salt
  • Mix these well together
  • Now it's time to add your butter and then your Crisco

  • Mix this together well, until it crumbles in your hand
  • Now add your egg
  • After you have added the egg add your vinegar
  • Now add your water and mix these together well

  • After you have mixed the dough well separate the dough into three balls
  • Add one of the balls to the floured surface and roll out to the thickness or thinness you desire

  • Grad a pie pan if you are making a pie or if you are making chicken pot pie like I am here
  • Make sure you line it up correctly
  • Trim the edges and start to fold in the sides to make it pretty
  • I just noticed my damn cat is in the picture on the rug by the back door
  • Anyways form the edges and set aside until the chicken pot pie mix is done or you are making pie

  • Take your other two pie dough's and place them in Ziploc bags and freeze them for up to 2 months
  • I am using 1 more pie shell for the top of the pot pie
Have fun with this recipe, its easy, fast and really flaky.  Have a great day.  Enjoy.
