Gluten Free Energy Bars

You all know that I try to make everything from scratch.  It is with great pleasure that I introduce you to my wonderful world of making energy bars.  Yes I think I have accomplished it.  If you don't like, sorry for your lose.  Kidding you all, I truly try to have humor in all of this cooking stuff.

Enjoy and they are easy.

Ingredients

1/2 Cup Cooked Quinoa
1/4 Cup Flax Seed
1/4 Cup Sliced Almonds
1/4 Cup Wheat Germ
1/4 Cup Dates (diced up)
1/4 Cup Craisins
1 Tsp Sea Salt



Mixing Ingredients
  • First thing we do is cook the Quinoa
  • Take the 1/2 cup and add 1 cup of water and turn the heat on medium
  • Allow this to cook for 15 minutes 
  • Take off the Heat and allow this to cool down
  • Take your flax seed and blend it until it becomes a powder, put in a mixing bowl
  • Take your almonds and blend it until it becomes a powder, put in a mixing bowl

  • Now chop up your dates into small pieces and add to mixing bowl
  • Add the rest of your ingredients
  • Mix with your hands or use a spoon
  • Place ingredients in a 9x9 pan and freeze for over night

These are great for before you go biking, hiking, walking and our running.  There packed full of fiber, vitamins and just sweet enough.  I hope you enjoy.  There Gluten Free.
